2017 Renaissance Teen Camps 7th Grade Up
There are still openings remaining at this time.
TEEN Camps will have a drop-off and pick-up at Brooks Hall. Please check the Parent's Handbook for specific locations. CHOOSE ONLY ONE DISCOUNT - YOU CANNOT TAKE BOTH. If registering for multiple workshops or multiple children, please select additional charges at fees and apply the discount rate of $10.00 off per camp for multiple registrations. If ETSU employee or student, $15.00 off per camp, please use ETSU email address. See Optional Fees for Discounts. We will double-check the discounts taken. There will be a $10.00 per every fifteen (15) minutes late charged after 5:00 p.m.
June 5-9: Teen Science & Engineering Camp:
Participants build and launch their own hydro rocket, design roller coasters, and work with robotics to explore the laws of physics and investigate the world of engineering. Richie Hayward will be back to present the world of drones. A special trip to the Powell Observatory to see the sun through telescopes is scheduled. They will take a field trip to visit Wonder Works in Pigeon Forge, TN. For rising 7th graders and up
June 12-16: Teen Media and Communication Camp:
The Summer Media Camp immerses campers in five days of fun and learning, with a focus on various techniques, including writing, photography and video, with hands-on use of the state-of-the-art facilities and equipment of the ETSU Department of Media and Communication. There will be a multi-day focus on “Green Days,” where campers will learn about and participate in coverage of the multiple efforts on campus to make ETSU “greener.” A one-day focus will immerse campers in the world of BucSports, learning what goes on behind the scenes and fun coverage of Buccaneer Athletics. The final day of camp will be capped by a “red carpet” showcase event where campers will show their favorite work from the week to family and friends. For teens entering 7th grade and up.
June 19-23: Teen Computer Camp:
ETSU digital media instructors will guides campers as they discover visual effect techniques through the use of videography, green screen compositing, and effects compositing. Students assemble their effects clips as a digital presentation for parents on the last day! For teens entering 7th grade and up.
June 26-30: Teen Digital Media Camp:
For rising Sophomores and higher with recommendation letter from teacher.
This camp is designed to teach campers who are interested in digital media production. This summer, campers will learn game modeling and animation. They will gain hands-on experience in the state-of-the-art Niswonger Digital Media Facility. Campers bring a bagged lunch each day, and the group will go to the Center for Physical Activity each day.
July 17-21: Teen Baking Camp:
Campers will learn the basics of baking, including bread, cake, and pie crusts. Each day will present new challenges. Julie Voudrie will be the primary instructor. For those entering 7th grade and up. Get ready to crank up your baking skills with celebrity TV chef and culinary instructor, Julie Voudrie. Teens learn to make a wide variety of recipes, from quick and tasty treats to restaurant-worthy desserts. Each day starts with breakfast recipes and combines practical kitchen skills, advanced baking techniques, and behind-the-scenes insights into reality TV baking shows. At the last session, bakers put their skills to the test with a high-energy TV-style baking challenge, complete with mystery ingredients and a countdown clock.
July 24-28: Graphics Arts Design Camp:
Join us for a week of learning about Graphic Design! Over the course of 5 days, students will be working with collage, mixed media, typography, and pattern making. We will be making posters/magnets/buttons and printing T-shirts designed by the group! This camp is for those who are interested in art and graphic design and would like to learn more about techniques and careers in the design field. For rising 7th graders and up.There will be a $10.00 per every fifteen (15) minutes late charged after 5:00 p.m.
