East Tennessee State University's Office of Professional Development is pleased to present the Buffalo Mountain Writers Workshop for Mystery Writers September 20 and 21, 2013.
This workshop features Molly MacRae, author of the recently released, national bestselling Dyeing Wishes. Molly is a long-time writer of mystery fiction with short stories in Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine and four mystery novels. Her fifth book, scheduled for release in early 2014, is the third in her third Haunted Yarn Shop Mystery series, published by Penguin (NAL/Obsidian). While maintaining a tight writing schedule (three books in two and 1/2 years) Molly also works full-time at the Champaign Public Library.
Molly once lived in Johnson City and Jonesborough, where she was the director of the Jonesborough-Washington County History Museum and later managed The Book Place. Last Wool and Testament, the first book in the Haunted Yarn Shop Mysteries, won the 2013 Lovey Award for Best Paranormal/Sci Fi Novel, Suspense Magazine's Best of 2012 and was Salt Lake County Library's Reader's Choice Award Nominee. Dyeing Wishes dubuted on Barnes & Noble's mass market mystery bestseller list at #11.
This session is focused on writing mystery fiction, including writing for magazines and journals, as well as the mystery novel.
The two-day workshop will be held on Friday evening from 6:30 - 8:00 and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with an hour break for lunch. Registration for both days is $65.00.
