2023 Renaissance Teen Camps

June 5-9: Reece Galaxy:
Art in Space The one-week Teen Camp for 7th graders and up, Reece Galaxy: Art in Space, will be in session June 5th to 9th. Campers will create an outer space-inspired art installation in one of the Reece Museum's three galleries. Collaborating with artists and museum staff, campers will work together to paint murals and creatively reuse paper to produce an installation that will transform a gallery space into an out-of-this-world experience. The exhibition will open to the public at the end of the camp and remain on display through September 15. Beyond creating an exhibition, campers will also enjoy daily indoor and outdoor activities on campus. The Reece Galaxy: Art in Space will give campers an opportunity to create an art exhibition in a professional museum, learn fun and interesting art making techniques, and explore the "final frontier."
June 12-16: Teen Leadership:
"Everyone has the potential to become a leader. At the ETSU Teen Leadership camp, campers will learn what being a leader truly means. Activities will include the ETSU ropes course, guest speakers from around the region, and team building exercises. Leadership is the backbone of society! From organizing community activities to identifying neighborhood needs, leaders can be found everywhere, including inside you."
June 19-23: Art and Design I
Drawing and painting: Campers will learn drawing and painting techniques, as well as applying a mixed media exploratory approach to art making. Digital Materials: Small sculpture. Campers will use digital processes such as ADOBE Illustrator to learn to operate our vinyl cutter and laser cutter making 2D and 3D works. Therefore, expanding their digital and material capabilities
June 26-30: Art and Design II
Fibers: Weaving and Wrapping. Campers will learn how to weave on a frame and practice several fibers wrapping techniques to create unique pieces, as well as some direct dye methods. Printmaking: In this exploratory print intensive camp, campers willl make zines, cyanotypes, monotype image transfers, and screen prints
July 10-14: Robotics
Campers with work with Instructor Kailee Amburgey to use LEGO MINDSTORM to program a robot. Kailee has been competing with robotics since high school. She has expanded the Robotics camp by inviting teams to show their robots. For rising 7th graders and up; Ages 12 or higher.
No Refund after camp starts. $50 administrative fee if a refund is requested less than seven days before the camp begins

TEEN Camps will have a drop-off and pick-up at specific locations based on where they will be for their camp. Please check the Parent's Handbook for specific locations.
