February is a season of love, chocolates, and sweet sentiments. But what about extending the romance and bonding BEYOND Valentine's Day? Join us as we explore the intricacies of nonverbal communication and partnership dancing with the wonderful instructors of Johnson City Ballroom. This nationally ranked and thriving studio will be showcasing two of the most common socially applicable dances: the rumba and foxtrot. Classes will be a journey through learning the foundation of each dance, as well as a few additional moves to utilize with them. No previous experience necessary! Whether a new budding partnership or a pair celebrating many anniversaries, we invite you to experience a fun, laughter-filled time through the joys of social dancing! Classes will be held February 3, 2024 and February 10, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Ballroom A inside Culp Center on the campus of ETSU. Fee is $60.00 per participant. Vashay Conley is one of the senior certified instructors at Johnson City Ballroom. Graduating from Science Hill High School (2006), he is a band alumnus, with multiple awards and titles to his name, including former drum major. He attended Middle Tennessee State University for music business and began teaching ballroom dance in middle Tennessee. After a few years, he made his way back to his hometown and has been teaching locally for 4 years. His focus is pro/am partnerships, both social and competitive levels, and he has competed in professional circuits as well. Darian and Tiffany Chancellor Darian and Tiffany are Smooth Closed Regional Champions and Fred Astaire Open Rising Star Smooth Champions. Darian was awarded many Top Teacher Awards, Darian also won a National Pro-Am Cabaret title in 2010, before they made the transition of opening their own studio, Johnson City Ballroom in 2011.
