Special Topics in Brain Injury

East Tennessee State University's Office of Professional Development presents The Fourteenth Annual Intermountain Brain Injury Conference, "Special Topics in Brain Injury," which will be held Friday, March 6, from 7:30 a.m.-4:45 p.m. at Carnegie Hotel, opposite the campus of East Tennessee State University.
The day begins with registration at 8:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast and offers great informative sessions throughout the day.

We will have several speakers; our keynote speaker Dr. Katherine Gifford, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Gifford will speak two times during the day on separate topics: Concussion: From Diagnosis to Management and Traumatic Brain Injury: Cognitive, Behavioral, and Emotional Consequences. We will also hear from Johanna Philipson about the treatment of brain injuries in Sweden, Laurel Farrell, Esq. rights and how to protect yourself or loved one with a Brain Injury, and Fredda Roberts from the Crumley House will facilitate the Survivor Story.

This is a community planned conference with several organizations and individuals involved. The planners are East Tennessee State University Office of Professional Development, as well as the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, Department of Physical Therapy, Roth Neuropsychology and Behavioral Health Associates, The Crumley House Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center, and Milligan College's Department of Occupational Therapy.

The fee for attending the conference is $125. Students may present their college identification and pay $55.The fee covers breakfast, lunch and breaks. General continuing education units are available, as are ASHA continuing education hours.

Education Credits:
ASHA Continuing Education of .650 will be available.
.750 General CEU's (Continuing Education Units) are available at a $25.00 fee.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:
There is a $50 processing charge (this is standard on most of our courses).

Less than one week - no refund, but transfer to another participant is encouraged.
